My passion for the profound effects of massage therapy has driven me to venture into the world of wellness and recovery. I joined Concept as a receptionist in October 2020 while seeking more experience in a therapeutic environment. I am elated to join the multidisciplinary team as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) in April 2024.
I am devoted to offering a safe and compassionate environment where each person is valued for their unique journey to well-being. Every treatment is personalized to address the specific requirements of the individual. Techniques such as myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, hydrotherapy, joint mobilizations, or proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitated stretching may be applied based on the condition.
As a stepping stone to patients’ wellness and recovery, I believe in the importance of providing knowledge and home care to support their well-being outside of their sessions. I aim to be an integral part of our community’s path to a healthier, more balanced life.
I enjoy travelling, yoga, running, Pilates, seasonal sports such as snowboarding and dirt biking, and most frequently hiking with my partner and our husky shepherd.

I joined the team at Concept Physio in December 2009. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria and completed my Masters of Science degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Alberta. I joined Dawn as a partner in clinic ownership in 2013.
I enjoy working with a variety of people and carry a caseload from kids to seniors. My treatment focuses on manual therapy (i.e. hands on) techniques supplemented with comprehensive exercise programs in order for clients to return to everyday activities, work and/or recreational activities pain free. You will also be provided with the tools to prevent future problems.
I have also been certified to do acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. Acupuncture is a great adjunct to the manual therapy and can help manage pain as well as promote healing.
I have completed a number of other courses including Level I and Level II of the Orthopedic Division’s Diploma of Advanced Manual & Manipulative Therapy courses, Mulligan’s Mobilization with Movement, neck and shoulder courses as well as a “Movement Impairment Syndromes”
Through 2014 I completed a year long course called the “Integrated Systems Model and Thoracic Ring Approach” that looks at the “primary driver”…i.e. where does your pain and dysfunction really come from?? A lot of people have multiple issues (i.e. the right shoulder and left knee) that seem unrelated or have issues that always come back. That’s where I come in. We just need to look close enough and we can find out HOW these areas can be impacting each other and WHY these things always seem to come back. I can teach you new strategies to fix up current problems, as well as prevent future ones.
I will be completed further coursework in the ConnectTherapy(TM) approach. This assessment and treatment model is revolutionizing the way we look at, and treat you as a whole person.
I am involved in community sports throughout the year and have a well rounded knowledge (and personal experience!) with mechanisms of injuries. I understand the physical and mental pain that an injury can cause when it is keeping you away from what you love doing and can show you how a proper rehab program can lead to a speedy recovery and get you moving again!

I am beyond excited to be a part of the Concept Physiotherapy team. I was raised on Vancouver Island and recently fell in love with the Okanagan Valley in my travels to and from Osteopathy School in Calgary. I’ve been a Redseal Landscape Horticulturist for 18 years and in 2012 I began studying the healing properties of plants with Rosemary Gladstar, Vital Ways Advanced Clinical Program, then with First Nations Elders Sheila Wray and Della Rice Sylvester. I worked both as a gardener and a small batch medicine maker for many years and knew that I wanted to move more into the health and science field. I considered Midwifery for many years and in 2014 I became a Doula. I am very passionate about working with babies, children, and families.
In early 2019, I was in an accident and was left with my second concussion and whiplash. It was then I discovered Classical Osteopathy; with only two treatments my pain had diminished and my range of motion was almost completely back to normal. Within a few months I was accepted into the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and have recently finished 4 years of hard work including 4200 classroom hours and over 1000 hours of supervised clinical rotations.
Classical Osteopathy works with the Laws of Nature and principles of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics. We work with fascia, muscles, ligaments to move bones to align the body structure which allows one to have increased function. I work with your body, not against it, creating a solid foundation for your body to be able to self-heal and self-regulate which leads to increased stabilization that lasts. We do this with an objective process of assessment, osteopathic diagnosis, and treatment.
When I’m not working you can find me gardening, rowing, hiking and swimming.

I joined the team at Concept in 2016 after completing my undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics from UBC-Okanagan, and a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University. I am an active individual who is passionate about getting people back to activities they enjoy, preventing and treating injury and improving movement and physical recreation. I enjoy working with a range of clients from children to seniors across all activity levels.
I practice a hands-on approach that involves manual therapy and soft tissue release. As a graduate of ConnectTherapyTM and The Thoracic Ring ApproachTM under Dr. LJ Lee, my approach is largely based around assessing and treating the whole person. By locating the driving sources of pain and dysfunction, I work with clients to reach your specific goals. As a practitioner as well as a patient of this approach I am constantly wow’d by the impact ConnectTherapyTM can have. Evidence-based practice is firmly rooted in my treatments and I am always seeking new knowledge to support my clients. I have taken additional training in trigger point dry needling, soft tissue release and have completed the SHIFT Concussion Management Certification.
From my upbringing in northern BC I’ve developed a great love of the outdoors. In my free time I enjoy combining my passion for fitness and lifelong activity with everything the beautiful Okanagan has to offer. You can often find me out biking, hiking, cross-country skiing, or exploring the back-country.
